Victorian illustration to download showing a picture of the gateway to Burlington House, Piccadilly in 1868 when alterations were being made to accommodate the Royal Academy. The 17th-century house was altered in the Palladian style in the 18th century by the architect Colen Campbell, including this arched gateway with pediment and rusticated columns. The house was sold to the Government in 1854, and in 1867 the RA took over the main block.
