Street decorations for a royal visit

Victorian illustration to download showing a street decorated for a royal visit in a way typical of the Victorian era. A triumphal arch in the Norman style has been built, decorated with garlands of evergreens, coats of arms and the royal standard. Garlands and banners decorate the street, and the lamp standards bear coats of arms, flags and more garlands. This scene was sketched on the occasion of Queen Victoria’s visit to Leeds in 1858; the royal coach passes under the arch, attended by outriders.
